Daley is a singer, songwriter and recording artist hailing from Manchester, UK.
A British boy who grew up on the sounds of Prince, Chaka Khan, D’Angelo, Sade and Radiohead, Daley has become known for his unique take on soulful music – futuristic yet familiar in sound, with heartfelt lyrics and standout vocal delivery. He returns this year with the release of his long-awaited sophomore album ‘The Spectrum’. The first single “Until The Pain is Gone” feat. Jill Scott currently resides at #6 on the Urban AC charts and has been streamed more than two million times worldwide.
Daley rose to prominence after co-writing and featuring on the Gorillaz hit ‘Doncamatic’. He has since become one of the UK’s most respected musical exports, recording and touring on both sides of the Atlantic with Pharrell Williams, Jill Scott and Marsha Ambrosius, as well as Miguel, Jessie J, Emeli Sande, and Maxwell.
His first solo work, the ‘Those Who Wait’ EP, was independently released and introduced the world to Daley’s own brand of Alternative R&B, Soul and experimental pop music… and an undeniable male voice. What followed was an unexpected surge of popularity in the United States, helped along by single ‘Alone Together’ – which after a tentative release became a runaway Top 5 hit at R&B radio. Largely hailed a ‘new classic’, the project garnered Daley kudos from The Grammys, BET, Soul Train and MOBO awards, as well as a loyal international fanbase.
The following year saw Top 20 singles in the UK charts – ‘Remember Me’ featuring Jessie J and ‘Broken’. His debut album ‘Days & Nights’ was released shortly thereafter via Universal Republic Records to critical acclaim and boasting contributions from Pharrell Williams, Illangelo (The Weeknd) Bernard Butler (Suede) and Andre Harris (Usher, Jill Scott). The album gave rise to another Top 10 R&B radio single ‘Look Up’ and was followed by several sold-out headline tours around the US and Europe. Daley described the project as a ‘diary of sorts’, one that showcased his most vulnerable, creative and carefully-crafted songs to date.
‘The Spectrum’ reached #1 on Amazon Urban R&B. Creatively, Daley is drawing on experiences both professional and personal over the last two years, in large part honouring the loss of close friend and manager Richard Antwi. He is now poised to open the door on the next chapter of his musical journey with renewed perspective… and eagerly awaited new music!
