Jienelle Thamara St. Bernard affectionately known as ‘Songbird’ cannot remember when she started singing but can definitely confirm it was at a very young age. Growing up in the village of Mardigras, she perfected her talent in Church where she remembers being worship leader at the age of 9. Jienelle completed primary, secondary and tertiary education but never participated in any musical programs during her school years but instead discovered her hidden talent as a soloist in the School drum core band. She did have an opportunity however, to open the show for RnB artist Jay Holiday during her final year in College.
Jienelle entered an won the National Queen Show in 2009 while at the same time launching her professional singing Career singing at Hotels and local Beach Bars with her first single called ‘Never give up’. As part of her journey to becoming a professional singer, Jienelle had her first big stage experience at Tempo turns 4 Event held in Grenada. She went on to release her single called ‘Inspiration’ in 2011.
From there, she has had the opportunity to share the stage with local, regional and international artistes including Mr. Killa, Tallpree, Chronnix, Tarus Riley, Ashanti and Jah Rule. She also proudly represented Grenada in 2017 at the Asanta World Expo in Russia as a vocalist.
In her spare time, Jienelle enjoys writing, socializing and spending time with her son.
